Are the Options Already Set?

For a user, each report can only be setup to run with one set of auto-run options. This means that if a user sets up an Import Verification report to run daily at 5 am, that user cannot also have an Import Verification report which runs weekly on Mondays at 7 am.

To tell if a report's autorun options have been set, look at the top of the report options page. Next to the Auto-Run Options button is a phrase which will state Are Set if the auto-run options for that report have been set, or Are Not Set if they have not been set.

If the auto-run options have been set, they can be "unset" or turned off, so that they can be changed. We will get to that a little later.

Getting to a Report's Auto-Run Options

From the report options page, click Auto-Run Options. That will take you to the report's Auto-Run Options page.

Setting the Auto-Run Options

From the Auto-Run options page, you can set email addresses, frequency with which to run the report, time of day to run the report, and a couple other frequency specific options.

  1. Enter the desired email addresses into the Email Addresses textbox. If you enter more than one email address, separate them with commas. If an email address was specified for an account when that account was created, that will be shown here.
  2. Select the desired frequency from the Frequency drop-down list. Frequency determines not only how often the report is run, but also specifies the date range the report covers.
Daily
the auto-run report will cover the previous day.
Weekly
the auto-run report will cover the previous week.
Monthly
the auto-run report will cover the prior month.
  1. Select Time of Day to Run Report. The times displayed are 24-hour clock times versus 12 hour clock times. The default time is 05:00. All times are Mountain Standard times.
  2. If you selected the Weekly frequency, you may set the Day of Week on Which to Run Report. If you select Monday as the day of the week to run the report, the report date range will cover the prior Monday through Sunday. If you select Tuesday as the day of the week to run the report, the report date range will cover the prior Tuesay through Monday. This setting is ignored if you select a frequency other than Weekly.
  3. If you selected the Monthly frequency, you may set the Day in Month to Run Report setting. Selecting the day of the month will not affect the date range of the report, meaning that a monthly report will always cover the first of the prior month to the end of the prior month. The reason to select a date other than the first of the month for a report is to allow yourself time to resolve any data posting issues before the report is run.
  4. Once you are finished setting auto-run options, click Turn On. This will signal the report server that it should add this report to its list of auto-run reports for this user.

Turning off Auto-Run Options For a Report

On the Auto-Run Options page, click Turn Off. This will notify the report server that it should remove that report from the list of auto-run reports for this user.

After clicking Turn Off, you will be taken back out to the Select Options page. The text beside the Auto-Run Options button should now say Are Not Set.
